ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini: which one suits your business?
The short answer
There's no perfect artificial intelligence for everything. If you need a single tool for very different tasks, ChatGPT is usually the most versatile. If you work with long documents, detailed analyzis or texts that must be very well written, Claude stands out. And if your day goes by between Gmail, Docs and Calendar, Gemini plays at home.
The best choice depends on your task, not on this week's ranking.

Profe Pío: I'll keep all three. And the coffee. And the nap… Fine, fine, I get the rules: if you have to pick one, pick the one that solves your task, not the one that's trending in the news.
Quick comparison
| Tool | Where it usually shines | Choose it if… | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|---|
| 🟢 ChatGPT | Versatility: chatting, writing, searching the internet, researching with sources, creating and editing images, analyzing data and talking by voice. | You need one tool for very different tasks. | The features available change depending on the plan. |
| 🟠 Claude | Long documents, detailed analyzis, careful writing and programming. | You work with contracts, reports, manuals or a lot of information at once. | Usage limits also depend on the plan. |
| 🔵 Gemini | Integration with Google: Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Calendar and other connected apps. | Your business lives inside Google. | Some features depend on the Google AI plan, the country and the language. |
What is ChatGPT best for?
ChatGPT is the all-rounder. According to OpenAI's help center, it can search the internet for recent information, carry out multi-step research with cited sources, analyze and create images, work with files and spreadsheets, and talk by voice.
It also has projects to organize your work, memory to remember your preferences and custom assistants. Some of these features depend on the plan.
For an SME, that means a single tool to write a tricky email, organize ideas for a campaign, review a sales table or draft a proposal.

Profe Pío: ChatGPT in the office is that colleague who says “yes, I'll do that” before you finish the sentence. Useful, very useful… but check what it delivers. Saying yes quickly isn't the same as saying it well. I know because I said yes to being an owl without reading the small print.
What is Claude best for?
Claude shines when there's a lot to read. According to Anthropic's help center, on its paid plans it can work with more than 200,000 tokens at once, about 500 pages of text, and some recent models handle quite a lot more.
That's why it's widely used to analyze long documents, compare versions of a contract, summarize reports and write texts that need a careful tone. The programming community also highlights it for working with code.

Profe Pío: A token is a little piece of a word that the AI uses to read and write. And the context is how much it can keep in view at once, like me with my glasses: the bigger they are, the more pages I see. You tell it “it's 150 pages…” and Claude answers: “and where's the long part?”.
What is Gemini best for?
Gemini plays at home if you work with Google. Google AI plans include Gemini inside Gmail, Docs and Sheets, and the Gemini app can connect, with your permission, to apps such as Gmail and Google Calendar to summarize emails or create events.
If your business already keeps everything in Google, that saves steps: you ask for a summary of an email thread or a draft document without leaving where you're already working.

Profe Pío: Gemini in Google is like me in a library: I already know where every book is. The problem is I also know where they hide the chocolate, and that doesn't help productivity.
What if I use all three?
You can, and many people do: one for research, another for long documents and another for day-to-day work in Google. But if you're just starting, the most useful thing is to master one before spreading yourself across three.
These tools change every month. What doesn't change is the method: give them good context, ask for a specific result, review it and keep what works.
How to choose in 3 questions
- What task do I want to solve this week? Write it in one sentence.
- Where does my information live? In Google, in long documents or a bit of everywhere.
- Who is going to use it, and on which plan? Features change between the free version and the paid ones.

Profe Pío: If you answered “it depends” to all three questions, congratulations: you already think like a consultant. Now, pick one. “It depends” doesn't count as a tool.
